Cultural Show Theme: "Traversing Fil-Hispano Relations"
The contests are open to all bona fide students of ages 16-24 years old:
Contest Theme: "What Fil-Hispano Friendship Means to Me"
1. Individual Essay Writing in Three Languages (English, Filipino and Spanish)
Essays that individually analyze and describe Fil-Hispano relations. Also, essays from any academic discipline and personal essays are most welcome. Using a modified MLA in the citation of sources, please use in-text citation and end notes for annotations, explanations, cross references, etc.
Please submit your articles on or before June 12, 2009, in one of two ways:
• Electronic hard copy by email to: kris_esquejo@ yahoo.com
• Hard copy with disk to Mr. Kristoffer Esquejo at the Department of History, FC 2033, U.P. Diliman, Quezon City 1101

Criteria for judging are as follows: content 50%, style 30% and organization 20%.
2. Extemporaneous Speech and Solo Singing Contests:
The contests will be held on June 26, 2009, from 9:00am-12noon at Aldaba Hall, UP Diliman. Pre-screening of contestants will be held on June 15, 2009.
For the extemporaneous speech:
The speech can be either in English and/or Filipino.
Criteria for judging are as follows: content 50%, organization of ideas 30% and stage presence 20%.
For the solo singing:
The song must be an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) pop song. Songs can be either in English and/or Filipino. Criteria for judging are as follows: musicality 50%, stage presence 10%, audience impact 10%, appearance 10% and song relevance 10%.
The prizes for every contest are as follows:
1st Prize – P5,000
2nd Prize – P3,000
3rd Prize – P2,000
