Si Dr. Gloria M. Santos ay Executive Director ng Philippine Historical Association mula pa noong 1980.  Siya rin ang unang babaeng pangulo ng PHA (1971-1972).

Sa panayam, tinanong si Dean Santos ukol sa kung ano ba ang dapat na maging pangunahing katangian ng isang historyador. Heto ang sagot niya:

"walang makakapantay sa kaniyang katapatang pagmamahal sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas. Kung mahal niya ito, ituturo niya ito nang tama, gagastahin niya ang kaniyang konting pera niya para bumili ng mga aklat na meron siyang matutuhan sa ating kasaysayan, gagasta siya ng konting pera para makapanaliksik sa ibang lugar... magsusumikap siyang kumita para may magasta siya sa pananaliksik at pagtuturo. KATAPATAN SA PAGMAMAHAL SA KASAYSAYAN NG ATING BAYAN. YAN ANG NUMBER ONE, KAPAG WALA IYAN, MAHIRAP.”
